The run up to Appleby.

Posted on 29th May, 2012

Well the run up to Appleby is here and in a strange twist of fate I've just completed a Romany style painted horseshoe to adorn a camper van. A picture will be added to the gallery soon. I also had an enquiry for information on Anne Playle, who inspired my interest in folk, canal and ultimately Romany art. Sadly the email address I received doesn't seem to be valid, so if it's you please get in touch again. If anyone else has requests for handpainted horseshoes then let me know, together we can design something to suit.

On the writing front I'm working on the front cover design for my next Appleby book, which will be out in time for Appleby 2013 - only a year to go folks! Picture captions are next, but if you can't wait that long then get hold of a copy of the August issue of Home Farmer magazine, it'll carry a fully illustrated article about the Fair written and photographed by yours truly. Don't forget you can still order my 'Horses of Appleby Fair' book from Old Pond Publishing or from your local bookshop. If you are going to Appleby this year remember to keep your eyes open for horses approaching and enjoy yourselves.
