The Countrymans Weekly and hunting.

Posted on 5th November, 2012

If you are keen on hunting and riding you might like to take a look at this week's Countryman's Weekly, they have a hunting special and my take on the meet is part of it. I'll be writing several hunting articles in the paper over the next few months for enthusiasts of all ages to read.

December's issue of Home Farmer is already out and has my article on sheep shearing in. It may seem a bit early to be covering the subject but it's timely advice and worth a read for anyone with a small number of sheep. The article is illustrated by my photos of our Herdwick sheep. I can't recommend the breed highly enough. They make really good smallholders sheep, heft themselves well and taste super.

The new book is well underway. I've been working on the pictures this week with my new editor and it's going well so far. Quite a way to go yet but it's great to be working towards a 2013 publication date at the end of May. There are still some copies of The Horses of Appleby Fair left, they make really good presents with Christmas not too far off. If you are interested you can order directly from Old Pond at www.oldpond.com Old Pond also have a new catalogue available so if you'd like one have a look at their website and ask them to send it to you.
