As we hurtle towards Christmas it's great to be looking forward to Appleby Horse Fair 2013 (6-12 June) and working on the new book Absolutely Appleby. We are almost there with the front cover and it looks a treat, makes you think of a real summer. The book will be published by Old Pond Publishing as a companion to my first Appleby book, The Horses of Appleby Fair. I'm hoping to be at Appleby doing signings, but we've a way to go yet before that.
Anyone interested in hunting can keep an eye out for my ongoing articles over the winter months in the Countryman's Weekly, they are covering all manner of hunting issues from taking children out for the first time to hunting on a hireling. All interesting if you are into country sports.
I've also been busy preparing several articles for Home Farmer magazine, ready for early 2013. These include a couple on renting land and it's management, which is key to small scale smallholding, farming and garden activities. It's a great magazine, well worth a look.
