After Appleby.

Posted on 9th June, 2011

Huge thanks to all those who joined myself, Heather from Old Pond and my husband Iain at the book signings of my latest book 'The Horses of Appleby Fair', including all the ladies at Kendal library and the bookshop owners, Barbara at Kirkby Stephen, Derek at Bluebell in Penrith and all at Westward books in Sedbergh. Loads of books were signed and huge sales were made. We had terrific fun and were never still for more than a few seconds, or so it felt. Can't wait to do it all again next year!

Appleby itself was fantastic with lots of photo opportunities - so watch this space. Posters of my pictures were sold by the TIC in Appleby, so this may be something I look more carefully at for the future. If anyone wants to order any of my books, do get in touch it can be arranged.

I've also just been asked to give a talk to Peterhead camera club and judge one of their photo competitions - a huge honour, so thank you Peterhead for asking me and I look forward to meeting you all during the coming season.

With that in mind I'm also going to explore the option of showing others how to put work, pictures, words and proposals together for books and articles. This would be on an almost one to one basis, with no more than 2 or 3 people together at any one time, so I could offer almost individual attention. If this is something that interests you please get in touch and we'll see what we can work out. If you have individual requirements please ask.

I'm currently photographing cats for my next article for Home Farmer magazine and working on my next walking book ' A Boot Up the Moray Way', the weather's not helping with this one, it's pouring down and still 5 more walks to photograph.

My next book 'Spirit of Highland Cattle' comes out on 12th July for Halsgrove and is looking good so far. The design is brilliant and has set the pictures off a treat.
